Frak

Whoops... Well it appears I've forgotten about this again. I could give a brief synopsis of everything thats happened since January, but I'm sure I've forgotten a thing or two.

Work has been pretty much work, I still don't really care for my actual job, but I actually did something about it. I re-enlisted a while back, so I was able to officially change my job, so the Army knows I'm a real life Network Admin finally, so that should transfer me to a new office within my current assignment. I just have to wait until November. Thats going to be a long wait.

Got through a couple more college classes, at this rate I may just get my degree SOMEDAY.

I've flown back to Illinois twice since January, one sad occasion and one happy occasion. My grandmother passed away, it's so sad when the family is only able to get together in those times. But everybody was able to make it home for the service. Most recently my best friend from high school got married, so I was an usher in his wedding, it was a beautiful outdoor service. The next day I drove up to Rockford to surprise my mother for her birthday, I think she enjoyed that.

Right now I'm just getting ready to move. The building I live in is being purchased by a development company. All of us current tenants have two options. Take the $25,000 and move out, or live through two years of nasty dirty renovation. Do I have to tell you which option I took? Well in case I do, I'm moving, and I'll have an extra 25-grand to help me move.

Anyhow it's late and I'm tired, so who knows maybe I'll write more again sometime?? We'll see...

Jet Lag

Okay okay okay... So yes it's been a while since I've posted anything. I've had a busy couple months. December I went home again for the first time in quite a long time. Got to see the family for Christmas, it was nice. I think mother probably weighs less than I do now. I swear I almost didn't recognize her at the airport!

As soon as I got home from Illinois I turned around and almost immediately headed overseas. I spent almost three weeks working in Abu-Dhabi. Let me tell you, that place was AMAZING. It was the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in. I don't think I'll ever be able to afford to stay in some place as nice in my life. The hotel had almost a 2km private beach, two heated swimming pools, one with water-slides and a "lazy river." I spent as much of my free time as I could out laying on the beach or by the pool working on my tan. As soon as I got back everyone was commenting on how nice and tan I looked. Its nice in the middle of January.

Well I think I just might finally be over all the jet lag from the flight from Abu-Dhabi to DC. I made the mistake of sleeping almost the entire flight. I forgot to take a book with me, so I wasn't about to sit on that C-17 and stare at the pallets of equipment for 18 hours, so I decided to take some Tylenol PM and make the flight go a little quicker.

Well I'm well into my Twilight Zone marathon and I need to find something somewhat productive to do today before I head into work tonight. Stay tuned, maybe I'll write more.
